A new exciting contemporary footwear brand for men and women will be launched in Spring-Summer 18. A brand with a passion for creating beautiful new things out of love and consideration for people and places. A brand that gets its inspiration from everywhere and everyone. A brand that understands the importance of design and where being original only comes from free thinking and doing what is true to oneself. This is a brand that was born to make shoes.

Pregis is a partnership between a factory owner and a fashion industry veteran, therefore combining manufacturing expertise with design philosophy. But, more than that, the brand is about friendship and understanding between people who live and breathe footwear.

Manuel Silva, the owner and director of Pregis Shoes and Martiape shoe factory, has been working in shoe manufacturing in Portugal for over 40 years alongside his chief operating officer Eugenio Silva, design director of Dominic Webster, formerly head of design at Hudson Shoes and creative director at Purified Footwear, has and together they have designed and collaborated with many of the best retail concepts around the world to produce fashion footwear suitable for places such as Selfridges, Dover Street Market and Net-a-Porter.

Webster, who lives between London and Ibiza, believes that “this powerful yet natural combination is set to produce quality footwear that is thoughtful, fresh and relevant in the ever-changing footwear market. Pregis is ‘footwear friends’ coming together and utilizing their experience to create a brand with a philosophy that encompasses people and product without presumptuousness or prejudice.”

When it comes to inspiration, Webster, who is aesthetically orientated, works without limits, subscribing to the thoughtful, not the phony, and following feeling, not fad. “I’m inspired by the unobvious, the functional and the unfussy and I draw from all sub-cultures within music, design and art,” he says.

Silva, who has worked with some of the best footwear brands in the world to pioneer new manufacturing techniques and finishings, backs up Webster’s creativity with his deep history in shoe manufacturing, while sales and marketing director, Jorge Sampaio, with his years of experience working for top international brands, brings commercial strength to the team.

The collection brings together a minimalist and graphic approach, placing function on the same level as shape. A modern summer palette places peach and sand suedes right next to more brash, bold silvers and shining leathers, as well as pink, snake, leopard and pony skins.

This Pregis collection aims to transcend the seasons and stand the test of time using quality materials, steadfast manufacturing processes and un-complicated styling to create modern contemporary classics. All made in Portugal.
